چکیده
In ectotherm species, environmental temperature plays a key role in development, growth, and survival. Thus, determining how affects fish populations is of utmost importance to accurately predict the risk climate change over fisheries aquaculture, critical warrant nutrition food security coming years. Here, potential effects abnormal thermal regimes (24, 28 32 °C; TR24, TR28, TR32, respectively) exclusively applied during embryogenesis tropical gar (Atractosteus tropicus) has been explored decipher consequences on hatching growth from fertilization 16 days post-fertilization (dpf), while skeletal development body morphology were at dpf. Egg incubation higher temperatures induced an early mouth opening. A rate was obtained eggs incubated °C when compared those 24 °C. No differences found survival dpf, with values ranging 84.89 88.86%, but increased wet weight standard length larvae TR24 TR32 groups. Thermal regime also altered which occurs. Larvae group showed advanced cartilaginous structures reduced dpf TR28 Furthermore, this seemed determine morphology. Based biometric measures, principal component analysis along each clustered together, population remaining clearly separated other. The current study shows changes may induce craniofacial morphological alterations stages contribute understanding possible global warming its ecological implications.

Use of Potato Starch in Diets of Tropical Gar (Atractosteus tropicus, Gill 1863) Larvae
Tropical gar, Atractosteus tropicus, is a carnivorous fish species from Southern México with high value and acceptance in local markets. Therefore, the present study aims to spare proteins in diets for larviculture of this species. An experiment was performed using three different experimental diets with increasing carbohydrate levels based on potato starch (S) and decreasing protein content (P...

A total of 8 helminth species were recorded in an examination of 43 tropical gar, Atractosteus tropicus Gill, collected at the Pantanos de Centla Biosphere Reserve, Tabasco, Mexico. The parasite species included 1 adult trematode, 3 metacercariae, 1 cestode, 1 adult nematode, and 2 nematode larvae. Six of these 8 species were rare, with low prevalence (< 17%) and abundance (< 1.0 helminths per ...

Effects of salinity on fertilization, embryonic stage, and early larval development and growth performances of short-spined white sea urchin, Salmacis sphaeroides were conducted under a controlled laboratory condition. The experiment was carried out with seven salinity treatments (15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40 and 45 PSU), each of which was triplicated. Significantly highest fertilization success was ...
